Maple Cup Renseikai 2026

For the first time, six women’s national teams will come together in Vancouver for the Women’s Maple Cup, an invitation-only international kendo renseikai hosted by Team Canada. Over two days, some of the world’s leading female kendoka will take part in a series of five-person team matches designed to provide meaningful international competition experience. The format will give every team opportunities to learn, adapt and develop throughout the weekend, from the opening matches to the final training sessions. The programme will include:
Saturday, 14 November: International team competition throughout the day.
Sunday, 15 November: International team competition, followed by open keiko and a Sayonara Dinner Banquet bringing together participating countries, athletes, coaches, officials and guests.
A special East–West Match is also planned to close the event, with ten members of Team Japan facing ten selected kendoka from the rest of the world on the centre court. It will be a unique highlight of the weekend.
